સમાજમાં આતંક ફેલાવવાની વ્યૂહરચના તરીકે વારંવાર ગુમ થવાનો ઉપયોગ કરવામાં આવે છે. આ પ્રથા દ્વારા પેદા થતી અસુરક્ષાની લાગણી માત્ર અદ્રશ્ય થઈ ગયેલા લોકોના નજીકના સંબંધીઓ સુધી મર્યાદિત નથી, પરંતુ તેની અસર તેમના સમુદાયો અને સમગ્ર સમાજને પણ થાય છે.
जबरन गायब होने का इस्तेमाल अक्सर समाज के भीतर आतंक फैलाने की रणनीति के रूप में किया जाता रहा है। इस प्रथा से उत्पन्न असुरक्षा की भावना गायब हुए लोगों के करीबी रिश्तेदारों तक ही सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि उनके समुदायों और समाज को भी प्रभावित करती है।
Enforced disappearance has frequently been used as a strategy to spread terror within the society. The feeling of insecurity generated by this practice is not limited to the close relatives of the disappeared, but also affects their communities and society as a whole.
